Fantasyland – Largest Expansion in Magic Kingdom History

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 01/27/2011

For all you Magic Kingdom lovers, you’ll be pleased to know the Fantasyland project is underway.  Fantasyland is the largest expansion project ever undertaken at Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

Many of the current buildings and attractions will be updated or revamped while there will be many new areas constructed.  The project will open in phases with some areas scheduled to open in 2012 and the remainder in 2013.

Double the Size, Double the Fun

The expansion project will almost double the current size of Fantasyland.  That means you can have twice the amount of fun.

Folks seem to be most excited about the all-new Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid.  You’ll be entertained on this ride by Ariel and friends while listening to your favorite songs from the animated film.

Other features in the expansion include:

•    The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
•    Additions to Dumbo the Flying Elephant
•    Beast’s Castle
•    Be Our Guest Restaurant
•    Enchanted Tales with Belle
•    Storybook Circus
•    Princess Fairytale Hall

These are just a few of the new or improved experiences you will find when the Fantasyland expansion project is complete.  Nobody does it better than Disney and I can’t wait to see Fantasyland once everything is complete.

Orlando is a Paradise for Shoppers

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 01/25/2011

Orlando isn’t just known for its fantastic theme parks, it’s also a shopper’s paradise.  It seems no matter where you find yourself in town; you are surrounded by malls, outlet stores, specialty shops, and unique boutiques.

Wide Range of Shopping Choices

In my years in Orlando, I don’t think I’ve seen any area increase at the rate of shopping choices.  It also seems I have little trouble finding a sale on just about anything I’m in need of.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite shopping venues in the Orlando area:

•    The Mall at Millenia
•    Orlando Premium Outlets
•    Prime Outlets
•    Park Avenue in Winter Park
•    The Florida Mall
•    Downtown Disney Marketplace
•    Pointe Orlando
•    Universal’s CityWalk

This is just a small listing of some of the spectacular shopping that awaits you in Orlando.  All of the theme parks have shopping and many of the hotels have shops within.  Surrounding communities like Altamonte Springs, Kissimmee, Winter Park, and Mount Dora offer unique shopping experiences.

You’ll find designer-name fashions as well as unique brands all over town.  If shopping is your bag, you won’t be disappointed on your trip to Orlando.

The newest ship in Disney’s Cruise Line is the Disney Dream.  And what a dream she is!  The ship’s design keeps the concept of family in mind and provides plenty of activities for kids and adults alike.  Her maiden voyage is set for January 26, 2011 and if you hurry, you might still find a spot on this trip.

You know, nobody really does it like Disney so it’s no small wonder they have developed the first ever water coaster at sea.  AquaDuck propels guests through an acrylic tube that goes up, down, around, and even over the outside edge of the ship’s deck.  The acrylic tube allows for unbelievable views of not only the ship below but the ocean as well.

A Cruise with All Ages in Mind
