Check Out the Nightlife on Church Street in Orlando

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 12/21/2010

What began as a railroad station in the late 1800’s is now a must-do stop in the Orlando nightlife circuit.  Church Street Station is located in downtown Orlando and you will definitely need to check it out while you are in town.

5 Great Orlando Bars

Church Street Station has a lot to offer in entertainment but the main draw is the nightlife and nightclubs.

•    Antigua – the interior design is sleek and the atmosphere is nothing but high energy.  VIP areas are offered and they have different bars conveniently located throughout the club.

•    Big Belly – it has a feel of a favorite watering hole.  Dance on the floor or on the pole to music spun by the DJ.  Big Belly also has some great sandwiches and burgers.

•    Chillers – definitely a party bar along the Key West style.  It’s a fun, laid-back bar specializing in frozen drinks.  You’ll be hard pressed to find a tastier daiquiri.

•     Latitudes – a rooftop bar that allows you to see the Orlando skyline.  The tropical atmosphere makes it a great place to kick back and enjoy the great drink specials they offer.

•    Rok Room – a newcomer to Church Street nightlife, it’s the newest rock bar in town with an ultra lounge feel.

Orlando offers some really great nightlife.  Don’t use up all that energy at the theme parks; save some to party down at one of the clubs on Church Street.  There are awesome hotels in the area, fantastic restaurant options, and it’s a stone’s throw from the amazing new Amway Center.

Make all your travel arrangements at OrlandoTravelHotels.com.  You’ll find guaranteed pricing on hotel rooms and you can save even more when you book your flight at the same time.  Enjoy all Orlando has to offer including the great nightclubs at Church Street Station.

Top 6 Hotels

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 12/16/2010

The travel industry has been hit pretty hard by the economic downturn.  Hotels, airlines, and cruise lines have seen significant drops in their revenue.  During this time, those who rely on travel dollars have dramatically tried to increase their satisfaction ratings.

One of the hardest hit during this time has been the hotel segment.  There has been a dramatic drop in occupancy ratings and hotel chains have been creative in their offerings to gain customer loyalty.

Top 5 Hotel Amenities

According to J.D. Power and Associates 2010 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study, the top five amenities are free internet access, complimentary breakfast, bedding and pillow choices, pillow top mattress, and free parking.
The study divided hotels into six segments and here’s who came out on top:

•    Luxury – The Ritz-Carlton
•    Upscale – Omni Hotels & Resorts
•    Mid-Scale Full Service – Hilton Garden Inn
•    Mid-Scale Limited Service – Drury Inn & Suites
•    Economy/Budget – Microtel Inns & Suites
•    Extended Stay – Homewood Suites

Making Reservations Online

The percentage of people making their hotel reservations online has steadily increased each year.  OrlandoTravelHotels.com makes it easy to book your hotel room, flight, or rental car.  You can also find great deals on cruises.

Most of the winners listed above have a hotel located in Orlando.  It’s no small wonder since Orlando is one of the most visited cities in the world.  Rate your own level of satisfaction against the results of the survey when you stay at any of these hotels in Orlando.  We’d love to hear your results.

Catch the Polar Express at Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 12/14/2010

You won’t find a better backdrop for a holiday movie than the beautiful grounds of Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando.  Bring the family to Leu Gardens on December 17, 2010 and enjoy an outdoor showing of Polar Express.  The Gardens open at 6:00 pm and the movie begins at 7:30 pm.

Is There Really a Santa Claus?

Polar Express is based on the popular children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.  Board the train with a doubting 8-year old boy and travel to the North Pole to find out if Santa Claus really exists.  Tom Hanks stars in the movie.

Leu Gardens is a hot ticket in town not only for its beautiful gardens, but its special events like outdoor movie nights.  Bring your blankets, chairs, a picnic basket and watch the movie under the stars with family and friends.

An outdoor movie night at Leu Gardens is just one of the fun things to do in Orlando.  The holiday season in Orlando is filled with special events.  Be sure not to miss a seasonal favorite in Polar Express as you make your list of holiday activities.

Come to Orlando and experience what makes this town so magical and special, particularly at this time of year.  Visit OrlandoTravelHotels.com to make all your travel arrangements.  Reserve your hotel and flight at the same time and save an average of $525.  You can use the money you save to experience more of what Orlando has to offer.

One of my favorite Orlando theme park holiday celebrations occurs at SeaWorld.  Where The Season Meets the Sea Christmas Celebration includes something for everyone.

Get Ready to Feel the Spirit of the Holiday Season

Here is a hint of what you can expect at SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration:

•    Travel to meet Santa at the North Pole on the Polar Express.  Have some hot chocolate and your photo make with  good old St. Nick.

Orlando Plays Host to Champs Sports Bowl and Capital One Bowl

Posted by: Travel Expert Posted Date: 12/07/2010

There are going to be some exciting football games during this year’s NCAA bowl matchups and two of the best will be right here in Orlando.  If last year’s games are any indication of what is to come, both of this year’s matchups should be doozies.

Not only will you find some hard-nose football, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy all the things to do in Orlando.  Plan a few extra days to enjoy theme parks, area restaurants, great shopping venues, and more.

Orlando Bowl Matchups

The 2010 Champs Sports Bowl pits North Carolina State (8-4) against #22 West Virginia (9-3).  The game is December 28th at 6:30pm and will be played in the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in downtown Orlando.

On January 1, 2011, #7 Michigan State (11-1) takes on #15 Alabama (9-3).  This game will also be played in the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium and game time is 1:00pm.

Get Your Bowl Tickets and Make Travel Plans

Those bowl tickets can get quite expensive so be sure to save on your flight and hotel accommodations in Orlando.  OrlandoTravelHotels.com guarantees you the lowest rate on hotel rooms and when you make room reservations and book your flight at the same time, you’ll save an average of $525.

Great football and great weather in the Sunshine State.  Who could ask for more!

•    Champs Sports – Orlando on December 28 features the ACC vs. Big East

•    Outback – Tampa on January 1, 2011 features the Big Ten vs. SEC
