Raise Your Glass and Money for Breast Cancer Awareness

There will be many activities in the Orlando that will benefit the fight against breast cancer.  Here are a few of our favorites:

•    The Pink Party at Blue Martini – October 9, 2010 - Proceeds will benefit the Central Florida affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

•    Pretty in Pink Martini Party at Wall Street Plaza – October 14, 2010 – Proceeds will benefit breast cancer awareness.

•    Pink Party Pub Crawl at The Lodge – October 15, 2010 – Partial proceeds to benefit Rock Pink

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Orlando is doing its part to paint the town pink.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women.  It is the number one cause of cancer death in Hispanic women and the second most common cause in White and African American women.

While there has been a decrease in the mortality rate over the last 40 years, it is important to be proactive in looking for signs of breast cancer through yearly physicals or mammograms and monthly self-examinations.
